What to do in Pinzolo
The main focus of the resort in Pinzolo is skiing. There are just over 30 km of trails here. In addition, there is also the possibility of combining the home ski area with the ski area of the neighboring resort of Madonna di Campiglio. There is a lift between the towns, called Campillo Express. The total ski area of Pinzolo and Madonna resort is about 150 km.
The home ski area is dominated by red pistes of medium difficulty. There are also several blue (easy) and black (difficult) trails. There is also a snow park and facilities for cross-country skiing.
Based on my research, in the united ski area (shared with Madonna di Campiglio) there are 42 blue, 37 red and 21 black slopes for every taste and level of training. There are 4 snow parks, and the cross-country ski area is significantly expanded. You can get to the united ski area by lift from Pinzolo in about 20 minutes.
In addition to the actual skiing, in Pinzolo you can also find many sports-related activities, for example, sledding or visiting the local skating rink. The skating rink is indoor. Here you can either just skate or practice hockey or curling. If you’re interested in outdoor skating, Madonna di Campiglio has an outdoor ice-skating rink on a lake.
Evening entertainment in Pinzolo also includes restaurants, bars, discos, and a cinema. In addition, many hotels offer spa services in their own wellness centers. A visit often includes options such as a sauna, hydromassage and regular massage, beauty treatments, a Turkish bath, a sensory shower and more.
In the summer, Pinzolo also opens its doors to tourists and travelers. An extensive network of hiking routes through the mountains, to waterfalls, picturesque valleys, etc. has been developed here, and for those who do not like long walks, the ski lifts continue to operate. Cycling and horse-riding routes are also available. Also, at any time of the year, be it winter or summer, you can try extreme entertainment, for example, paragliding, which is quite popular here. It can add an unforgettable experience to your trip, in my point of view.
For relaxation, the local Centro Pineta spa complex is ideal, located right in the center of Pinzolo and housed in a building of over 500 square meters. The spa center includes an indoor pool, a Kneipp pool, a Mediterranean pool, a jacuzzi, a Caldarium (hot bath), a Finnish sauna, sensory showers, and a relaxation area. I found out detailed information for visiting the center:
- The center is open daily from 10.00 to 12.00 (pool only) and from 14.30 to 19.00 (all options).
- The entrance ticket costs in the morning from 10 euros for an adult and 5 euros for a child, in the afternoon from 22 euros for an adult and 5 euros for a child.
In general, we can say that Pinzolo, despite its small size, can be an excellent alternative to the more famous neighboring resorts. There is a calmer, more relaxed atmosphere here, while active time can be combined with options from neighboring resorts, since there are common ski passes.
Take a note! When going on a trip to Italy, do not forget to take out travel insurance, which is useful for receiving a tourist visa and for solving emerging medical problems when travelling in another country. You can purchase insurance via online services, for example, via EKTA and others. You can choose from different modes, including quiet, active or extreme rest.
