The other months (from April until October) suit best for hiking, sightseeing, rock climbing, tennis, golf and other summer activities. What to do in Soll
The resort village of Soll is a part of the united ski area of Brixental and Wilder Kaiser. In addition to Soll, this also includes villages such as Elmau, Scheffau, Westendorf and some others. The villages are connected by a ski bus system. There is some useful information about the ski resort which I have recently found out:
- The total length of trails in the region is 280 km.
- 136 km of trails are blue, 127 km are red, and 17 km are black.
- The resort area is served by almost 100 ski lifts.
- The cost of ski passes depends on the period – high (from 25.12 to 19.03) or low (20.03 to 11.04).
The characteristics of the ski region also include a snowboard park, a halfpipe, cross-country ski trails (about 30 km), toboggan runs, night skiing, freestyle areas with jumps and rails. There are many winter and summer hiking routes.
Tourists often choose the sports complex in neighboring Ellmau as a place to relax after an active day. Sports complex called “Kaiserbad” is located at the foothills of the mountains and offers relaxation for the whole family. Outdoor and indoor pools, water slides, saunas and relaxation areas, panoramic views and year-round entertainment – this is what the Kaiserbad complex has to offer. I examined some information to collect practical information for visiting and here it is:
- The sports complex is open daily from 10.00 until 22.00;
- The entrance fee to the outdoor pool is from 7,90 euros for an adult and 6,60 euros for a child;
- The entrance ticket to the indoor pool also starts from 7,90 euros for an adult and 6,60 euros for a child;
- The entrance ticket to the sauna area starts from 25,30 euros for a 3-hour stay;
- Also, if desired, entrance to the climbing wall and tennis court is paid separately.
The resort of Soll is open all year round. And if in winter the main activities are skiing and snowboarding, then in summer you can try yourself in sports such as golf, cycling, rock climbing and hiking. Fans of extreme kinds of sport can also go rafting, canyoning, paragliding, mountaineering, and in winter – tobogganing, ice skating (there is an outdoor skating rink), freeriding, etc.
To my mind, in general, Soll and other villages in the Brixental Valley have a developed infrastructure, plenty of entertainment for every taste, and can also boast regional restaurants with panoramic mountain views and après ski bars.
Take a note! When going on a trip to Austria, do not forget to take out travel insurance, which is useful for receiving a tourist visa and for solving emerging medical problems when travelling in another country. You can purchase insurance via online services, for example, via EKTA and others. You can choose from different modes, including quiet, active or extreme rest.
