When to travel to San Vincenzo
San Vincenzo is a small but beautiful resort in Tuscany, Italy. It is one of the best places on the Tuscan Riviera for a beach holiday and water activities. Being a small resort town, San Vincenzo attracts tourists with its natural landscapes.
From the town center, 10 km of sandy beaches stretch in both directions, washed by the warm Tyrrhenian Sea. The beaches of San Vincenzo are marked with the Blue Flag, which is awarded only to the best beaches in the world. The resort is surrounded with mountains and coniferous and oak forests. The area around San Vincenzo is ideal for hiking and cycling.
After some research, I decided to put together information I have previously found out and create a complete guide on how to organize a holiday in San Vincenzo. I figured out how to get to the town, where to stay & what to see. I really hope this detailed information will help you plan your trip to San Vincenzo.
There are many options for what to do on your holiday in San Vincenzo. This could be yachting or sailing; the local port has been restored for this purpose. These can be all kinds of excursions; the resort has preserved many archaeological sites from the Etruscan times; beautiful gardens and parks equipped with bicycle tracks are also suitable for walks. The town also has a large sports center with its own tennis courts, golf courses and diving equipment.
San Vincenzo can offer developed resort infrastructure, which is not limited only to the hotel area and catering areas. To my mind, the best time to visit San Vincenzo is the summer time when swimming and sunbathing is available due to weather conditions.

What to see in San Vincenzo
San Vincenzo is, first of all, a beach resort, but this does not mean that active travelers will have nothing to do here. In addition to a variety of water sport activities, in the surroundings of San Vincenzo you can go on an excursion to the Rimigliano Natural Park, or go to the neighboring town of Piombino, from where you can take a boat ride to the Italian island of Elba. Also, in the immediate surroundings of San Vincenzo you can find the thermal springs of Il Calidario and Thermarium. For impressions of the centuries-old history of the region, in my point of view, it is worth going to one of the large cities in the neighborhood. It can be either Siena, Pisa, Pistoia or Arezzo; this list would not be complete without Florence, to be honest.
San Vincenzo is a fairly pleasant resort town with a well-kept promenade where you can take long walks by the sea. It also features spacious sandy beaches, some of the best on the Tuscan Riviera, and many other remarkable places. These, in particular, include the elegant central squares called Piazza Grandi and Piazza Unita d’Italia, the ancient towers of Torre di San Vincenzo and Torre Vecchia, and the elegant cathedral of San Vincenzo Ferreri.

There are also archaeological finds in the town, because the first settlements in the San Vincenzo area appeared long before our era. Thus, ruins of Etruscan and ancient Roman settlements were found here, as well as a partially preserved nameless fortress, which is located in the surroundings of San Vincenzo on Cape Populonia.
Don’t be lazy to visit one day the Rimigliano Natural Park. Firstly, here you will find fine sandy beaches with stunning views of the Tyrrhenian Sea. Secondly, you will be completely captivated by the local natural landscapes, which include moving dunes, coniferous forests, marshy areas, glades, rare species of plants and trees. According to my research, entrance to the park is free.
Further beyond the park you can find the town of Piombino, an excellent starting point to the island of Elba. You can get to Elba Island by numerous ferries that operate throughout the day from the local port. As I figured out, the travel time by ferry is 1 hour. The distance from San Vincenzo to the Rimigliano Park is only 6 km, and the town of Piombino is 25 km.

Take a note! When going on a trip to Italy, do not forget to take out travel insurance, which is useful for receiving a tourist visa and for solving emerging medical problems when travelling in another country. You can purchase insurance via online services, for example, via EKTA and others. You can choose from different modes, including quiet, active or extreme rest.
